My autobiography!
My name is Tenzin Chodak and I am a Tibetan. People call me Chodak, because in our country 90% of the people have same first, but different last names. I was born on September 14, 1987, in Tibet, but moved in India at the age of three because there was no cultural right, religious freedom, freedom of speech and many other rights for Tibetans in Tibet.
Tibet was a separate country from China before the year 1959, but the Chinese started entering Tibet in 1949, and dominated our country. They tortured thousands of Tibetans in past and it is still happening in Tibet. Since then, Tibetans were exiled in India because of the mass number of murdering in our country. Therefore, I was also exiled in India with my parents and younger brother and elder sister in 1990.
In the year 1998, I had been through the worst situation when my father passed away due to cancer and he left my mother along with my brother, sister and I. Then the time fled and when I think of this, it feels like a nightmare that I had yesterday. Unfortunately, it wasn’t.
I studies and spent many years with my grandparents until I turned 18 in India, because my mother moved in the United States after my dad passed away. I came to the United States on December 11th, 2005, for better educational opportunities.
I enjoy watching soccer games. Listening to music, taking pictures and playing pool are some of my hobbies. I also like searching for new places in the city to eat or to hang out with my buddies. I cannot stand nearby fish or its odor because it disgusts me, and my phobia is standing on a high altitude or a height.
In my life, I wanted to become a radiologist technician for living because of the high job demand in this field and also it would be a suitable job for me since I am into photography.
